1. Who is responsible (Data Controllers)

The data controllers responsible for your personal data on this Service are:

You can contact us at any time using the email addresses above for any question relating to this policy or your personal data.

2. Data we collect

We only collect data that is necessary to operate the Service:

  • Account data (via Google Sign-In). When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile picture and a unique Google account identifier. We do not receive or store your Google password.
  • Content you create. Discussion comments, votes, reports, and any files or images you upload, together with timestamps.
  • Reputation data. A trust score and badge derived from your activity and community feedback.
  • Technical data. Standard server log information such as IP address, browser type and pages accessed, used for security and to keep the Service running.

3. How we use your data

  • To authenticate you and provide access to the Service.
  • To display your comments, votes and profile, and to operate discussions.
  • To moderate content, calculate trust scores and prevent abuse.
  • To send you notifications (for example, replies to your comments).
  • To maintain the security, integrity and availability of the Service.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you request when you create an account and participate.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the platform, moderate content and prevent misuse.
  • Consent — where required, for example optional communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. Cookies and sessions

We use a strictly necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We also store a language preference. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6. Sharing and third-party services

We do not sell your personal data. We rely on the following processors:

  • Google — for authentication (Google Sign-In / OAuth).
  • Email provider — to deliver notification emails, where enabled.
  • AI provider — where AI assistance features are enabled, relevant text may be processed by an AI service to generate summaries or suggestions.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data and content for as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove or anonymise your personal data, except where we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”);
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • request a copy of your data in a portable format;
  • lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email addresses in Section 1.

9. Data security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. International transfers

Some of our service providers (such as Google) may process data outside your country. Where this happens, appropriate safeguards required by applicable law are in place.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
